Termite (WDO) & Thermal Imaging Inspections
Green Country Inspections offers two popular add-ons to any home inspection: a termite (wood destroying organism, or WDO) inspection and a thermal imaging assessment. Both help you see what a standard visual inspection cannot, and both can be booked with your inspection for one convenient visit.
Termite inspection: $125
Termites and other wood destroying insects are common in Oklahoma, and the damage they cause often goes unnoticed until it is serious. A termite inspection looks for evidence of active or past infestation and the conditions that attract wood destroying insects, such as wood-to-soil contact and moisture around the foundation.
- Often requested by lenders as part of the home buying process
- Identifies visible evidence of termites and other wood destroying insects
- Points out conditions that make a home vulnerable to infestation
- Gives buyers information to negotiate treatment or repairs
Thermal imaging assessment: $100
Thermal imaging uses an infrared camera to show temperature differences across walls, ceilings and floors. Those differences can reveal problems hidden behind finished surfaces, without cutting into anything.
- Hidden moisture from roof, plumbing or window leaks
- Missing or poorly installed insulation
- Air leaks around windows, doors and the attic
- Overheating electrical components
- HVAC duct and airflow issues
Thermal imaging is especially useful for new construction and builder warranty inspections, where insulation and moisture problems should be found while the builder is still responsible.
Other add-ons
- Crawl space inspection: $25
